Extraction & Isolation Science
Extraction is where a botanical becomes an ingredient, and where most of the variability in the final material is introduced. We treat extraction and isolation as a measured, controlled science: every stage is characterized analytically, every decision is backed by data, and every process is documented well enough to be repeated.
Process understanding
Starting-material qualification. Botanical identity, alkaloid profile, moisture, and contaminant screening on incoming material, so downstream results can be interpreted against a known input.
Extraction efficiency studies. Systematic evaluation of solvent system, temperature, time, and solid-to-liquid ratio, with mass balance and analytical tracking of target and non-target compounds at each stage.
Selectivity and purification. Evaluation of fractionation, chromatographic, and crystallization strategies for enrichment of target alkaloids and removal of unwanted co-extractives, with purity and impurity profile measured at every step.
Green process assessment. Solvent selection guided by safety and environmental criteria, solvent recovery evaluation, and energy and waste accounting for each process option.
Analytical support at every stage
Our in-house laboratory runs in-process testing alongside the process work: potency and purity by HPLC and LC-MS/MS, residual solvents by headspace GC, moisture, and contaminant screening. Process decisions are made on measured results, not assumptions.
Scale and transfer
Bench-scale studies establish the process; pilot-scale confirmation verifies that it behaves the same way at volume. We document critical parameters, proven acceptable ranges, and in-process controls so the process can be transferred to a production facility with confidence.

Scope and compliance
We work with botanicals and alkaloid-bearing materials whose handling is lawful for the intended purpose in the relevant jurisdiction, and we assess regulatory status before any project begins. This page describes our capability to characterize, control, and document extraction processes; specific process parameters are provided only to qualified clients under a formal engagement.
