Safety, Compliance & Quality

Working with concentrated botanical extracts and alkaloid materials carries real responsibilities: to the people handling them, to the clients relying on our data, and to the regulators who oversee the space. Safety and compliance are not a department here; they are conditions of doing the work.

Laboratory safety

Hazard assessment. Every new material, solvent, and procedure is risk-assessed before it enters the laboratory. Assessments consider chemical hazards, exposure routes, quantities, and the controls required.

Engineering controls. Fume hoods, ventilated enclosures, and closed-system handling are used for volatile solvents and potent materials. Controls are inspected and certified on a schedule.

Personal protective equipment. PPE requirements are defined per procedure and per material, and compliance is verified. Potent-compound handling follows written containment procedures.

Chemical management. Solvents and reagents are stored by compatibility class in rated cabinets, inventoried, and labeled. Safety Data Sheets are maintained for every material on site.

Waste handling. Chemical, solvent, and biological waste streams are segregated, labeled, and disposed of through licensed vendors, with manifests retained.

Emergency preparedness. Spill response kits, eyewash and safety showers, fire suppression, and first-aid provisions are in place and inspected. Staff are trained in emergency procedures and drills are conducted.

Regulatory compliance

  • Regulatory status of every material is assessed before work begins, and re-assessed as federal and state requirements change
  • Materials subject to controlled-substance regulation are handled only under the licenses and registrations that apply, or not at all
  • Client materials are accepted only with documentation of lawful origin and intended use
  • We do not make, and do not support, therapeutic or health claims for any material we test or develop

Quality system

Our quality management system is built on Good Laboratory Practice principles and aligned with ISO/IEC 17025. It covers document control, training, instrument qualification, data integrity, deviation and CAPA management, internal audit, and management review. Client audits are welcome.

Product safety support

For clients bringing an ingredient to market, we support safety documentation: contaminant testing to recognized limits, stability data to establish shelf life, Safety Data Sheet preparation, and handling and storage guidance for downstream users.

Transparency

Every result is traceable to a method, an instrument, a reference standard, and an analyst. Full data packages are available to clients, and third-party verification is arranged on request.
