Laboratory Operations
Good data comes from a well-run laboratory. Behind every certificate we issue is a system of qualified instruments, controlled materials, trained analysts, and documented procedures. This page describes how the laboratory operates day to day.
Quality management system
Our laboratory operates under a documented quality management system built on Good Laboratory Practice principles and aligned with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. Written standard operating procedures govern every activity, from sample receipt to data review, and are controlled, versioned, and reviewed on a schedule.
Instrument qualification and maintenance
- Installation, operational, and performance qualification for every analytical instrument
- Scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration, with records retained
- System suitability checks before every analytical run
- Change control for software, firmware, and configuration updates
Sample management and chain of custody
Samples are logged on receipt with a unique identifier, storage condition, and requested testing. Custody is recorded at every transfer. Retained samples are held under controlled conditions for a defined period and disposed of according to written procedures.
Reference standards and reagents
Reference standards are qualified, assigned an expiry or requalification date, and stored under controlled conditions. Reagents and consumables are logged with lot numbers and expiry dates so any result can be traced to the materials used to produce it.
Data integrity
Analytical data are captured electronically with audit trails, secured against alteration, and reviewed by a second qualified analyst before release. We follow ALCOA+ principles: data are attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original, accurate, complete, consistent, enduring, and available.
Personnel and training
Every analyst is trained and qualified on each method and instrument before generating reportable data. Training records are maintained and competency is reassessed periodically.
Environmental control
Temperature and humidity are monitored in laboratory and storage areas. Stability chambers are mapped, monitored continuously, and alarmed.
Operational services for clients
Beyond our own laboratory, we help clients stand up or improve their own operations: SOP authoring, instrument qualification support, quality-system gap assessments, analyst training, and audit preparation.
